You’ll need a parent to help you before you sign up.
Just ask them to add their email address into the form below and let them sort the details out for you.
Parents: Illuminateonline is a safe space for your child. They can access tips for staying safe online, lists of charities that support young people, and fun quotes and videos to motivate and cheer them up on days when the internet is too overwhelming
By registering, they can create a private diary to record any worries they may have about social media or cyber-bullying. Everything is kept completely private and there is no way for other users to interact with your child on the site.
However, by allowing your child to use Illuminate, you give permission for anything they write to be stored on our servers until they delete it. This will not be accessed by anyone other than your child, and its only purpose is to give your child a safe outlet for their concerns, as well as an easy way to approach a teacher or another adult with evidence of bullying.
We hope that Illuminate is helpful to both you and your child, and we definitely encourage, regular, open discussions between you about staying safe on the internet.
Before you register, here are a couple of things that you need to be aware of:
Illuminateonline provides you with a private online diary where you can note down anything that is bothering or upsetting you, so you can easily take action if you need to
No one can interact with you on the website – it’s just for you and is a completely safe space
However, anything you write is stored so that you can access it whenever you need it. Therefore, your diary will be stored on our servers until you delete it. Don’t worry – nobody is going to read it! – but just be aware that what you’re writing is saved until you get rid of it.
